POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a sales position supporting Balchem Animal Nutrition and Health product in the Northern U.S. and Canada primarily poultry, swine and pet. Primary responsibilities will be to work with distributors, integrators, resellers and end users supporting and promoting current products while developing new business. Account plans, execute sales and marketing tactics and provide feedback on industry and competitive activities. This individual will work closely with Technical Services and the Monogastric Business Director, identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities.

THIS IS A REMOTE SALES POSITION COVERING THE NORTHERN TERRITORY.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sales Territory management of accounts and products in Canada and MN as well as major petfood manufacturers across the US.
  • Engage poultry, swine and pet nutritionists, integrators and manufacturing sites identifying key challenges and opportunities to utilize Balchem’s technology to improve animal health and performance.
  • Identify new accounts and product opportunities for the expansion of KeyShure in the pet, poultry and swine segment.
  • Demonstrate an awareness in the industry of technologies and solutions to further advance and promote innovation within the Balchem organization.
  • Sound technical understanding of Balchem products and other nutritional products to build credibility and gather important information or specifications, allowing them to propose targeted solutions and close sales.
  • Salesforce CRM utilization and account management.
  • Develop effective long-term professional relationships with both the internal Balchem ANH Team as well as external customer, key opinion leaders and industry organizations.
  • Manage account contracts, bids and agreements in a mutually beneficial outcome, on time and aligned with account plans.
  • Make sound business decisions based on a strong understanding of the company’s business model, strategic goals and relevant policies.
  • Create annual territory plans including clear objectives, priorities, and detailed action or project plans that deliver sales targets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree preferably in an Animal Science field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with poultry/swine integrator nutritionists and a strong understanding of the pet/poultry/swine markets
  • A self-starter with strong communication skills who can work cross-functionally within the Balchem ANH organization is essential
  • A willingness and interest in expanding personal expertise across monogastric species is needed
  • Additionally, the willingness to travel domestically is required. Travel: 75%
  • Required to travel by air and automobile
  • Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, and drive an automobile to reach customer locations
  • Works in office and field locations, subject to physical and environmental conditions
