Planner, Intercompany

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Intercompany Planner supports the efficient movement of inventory across Balchem's global network by coordinating intercompany replenishment activities and executing intercompany transactions. This role monitors inventory levels, creates and manages intercompany purchase orders and sales orders, and works closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, and Accounting to ensure the timely and accurate flow of materials.

The role plays an important part in maintaining process compliance, resolving transaction issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts that enhance service, inventory visibility, transaction accuracy, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Intercompany Replenishment Planning

  • Manage replenishment activities for assigned intercompany inventory and stock transfer relationships.
  • Collaborate with international teams to monitor inventory levels and identify products requiring replenishment to support customer demand and inventory targets
  • Create and maintain replenishment plans in partnership with plant planners, schedulers, procurement, and customer service teams.
  • Escalate inventory shortages, demand changes, and supply risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Help balance product availability, service expectations, and working capital objective

Intercompany Transaction Management

  • Create, process, and monitor intercompany purchase orders and corresponding intercompany sales orders.
  • Track order status from creation through confirmation, shipment, receipt, and closure.
  • Ensure timely processing of order confirmations, receipts, and inventory transactions within ERP system.
  • Work with logistics, customer service, supply chain, and finance teams to resolve order, shipment, pricing, quantity, and invoicing discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate transaction data and support clean order aging and timely order closure.

Process Compliance and Controls

  • Follow established intercompany procedures, transaction controls, and standard work.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, and Operations colleagues to identify and resolve inventory, shipment, and invoicing discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end activities by ensuring intercompany transactions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain documentation supporting intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
  • Escalate recurring process breakdowns or control concerns to the intercompany team and management.

Continuous Improvement and Team Participation

  • Serve as an active member of the Intercompany Process Improvement Team.
  • Participate in initiatives focused on improving intercompany planning, ordering, inventory management, and transaction accuracy.
  • Provide feedback on challenges and opportunities identified through daily execution of the process
  • Assist with testing and implementation of process improvements, reporting tools, and system enhancements.
  • Support documentation, training, and adoption of new or revised intercompany procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in an operations, inventory, customer service, logistics, procurement, or transactional support role may also be considered.
